Sustainability
Making the World a Greener Place...
Since launching our Power of 10 initiative last year, we are continuously coming up with new and exciting ways of becoming carbon neutral, with the objective of becoming the first carbon neutral property software company.
What we have done so far...
We are working hard to act in an environmentally friendly manner, and are constantly generating new ways to reduce our carbon footprint.
Some of the activities we have undertaken are shown under the following categories:
Environment:
- We are offsetting the impact of every software sale we do by dedicating a tree through the Woodland Trust. Since the beginning of the year, we have already dedicated 55 saplings to one of the many woods protected by the Woodland Trust; at Stray Head Banks, Littlebeck, in North Yorkshire
Pollution:
- Implementation of a car sharing scheme for employees, for meetings offsite
- Implementation of video and telephone conference calling systems to reduce travel
- Introduction of web based/telephone training for customers, also to reduce travel
- Cycle to work scheme
Waste:
- Targets are regularly set and monitored for each of our offices to reduce consumption
- We have significantly reduced the amount of printed material to be given to customers; focusing more on sending information electronically
- Introduction of paperless meetings
- We have recently changed suppliers for our stationery and office supplies, to ensure that we are dealing with a company that is solely focused on sustainable products
Water:
- We have now installed water boilers in all our main heavy water usage offices
Energy:
- Green awareness stickers have been placed in our offices to prompt staff to turn off all electrical items when not in use
Healthy Lifestyle:
We are now supplying our offices with fruit baskets on a weekly
basis to contribute to the healthy lifestyle we seek to encourageWe have recently launched a new 'Walk to Win' competition, which will see our employees complete a pedometer challenge to monitor how many steps they take over the month period and the winner will receive a healthy prize
